The Airit charts represent the most requested Australian artists at AMRAP by Australian radio stations. 900 shows from over 200 stations subscribe to AMRAP to source their Australian content, with hundreds of songs ordered every week. Pretty chuffed to make the top 10!

Many thanks to Moe Hammoud for all his help and directing skills! Not to mention cinematographer Nathan Garcia and editor Ashlee Lukas. We had a great day filming this at ye olde abandoned army barracks in Batesford.

We’re going to record/film the show with a view to releasing a live DVD/CD later in the year. We need you to be part of the audience to make this work! We’d also like you to bring your phone/camera to get a little footage – send it to us and we’ll feature the best clips on the DVD.

Kindred Studios is a great venue, a rehearsal/recording complex that has a fantastic performance space set up, and of course the most important ingredient – a bar. It’s the perfect spot to film a gig.

Kindred is located on Whitehall Street in Yarraville, next to Yarraville Gardens. It’s a 5 minute walk from Footscray or Yarraville Stations, and only 2 minutes from Seddon Station. There’s also loads of free parking right outside. Click here for a map.

We’ve got two fantastic acts supporting us on the night. First up is the captivating presence of Sarah Eida, with her songs of heartbreak, betrayal, dark forests and fairy-tale mythology. Then the mighty Stomp Dog take the stage with their mix of dark folk tunes, frenetic bush music and haunting murder ballads.

We have a new album in the can – it’s now finished, we’re just waiting on mastering and pressing now. It’s currently still untitled – we’ve really got to get onto that – and will feature 12 tracks including 3 traditional folk tunes, 2 covers and 7 brand new Zeptepi originals.

Lots of shows coming up early in the year, especially for the acoustic trio, then we’re very pleased to announce we’ll be appearing at the following three folk festivals come Autumn…

16-18 March – Echuca Celtic Festival
23-25 March – Yackandandah Folk Festival
27-29 April – Koroit Irish Festival

We’ve spent the latter half of the year putting together album no.4. Pretty much done now, just a few songs left to mix, tentatively planning a January release. It’s predominantly an acoustic affair, but the whole band does appear on there in some shape or form. Don’t take this as an indication that we’re softening up though… the full electric band is alive and well and aiming to record another album in winter 2012! An acoustic album just felt… right. And it will feature our best songs yet. Also on the horizon is a new video clip for one of the new tracks. We had a fantastic time filming this with director Moe Hammoud in Batesford (nr Geelong) back in October. This will be the first time we’ve done a video with a narrative plot (of sorts) rather than just straight performance. Eep!

So many other highlights for 2011. We kicked off the year with a flood-ravaged trip to Adelaide, the Tasmania tour in March was amazing fun and the reception at the recent Beechworth Celtic Festival blew us away. Apollo Bay Festival was brilliant, and the Mt Beauty Festival was… interesting. A huge thank you to all the people who have watched us, danced to us and bought cds throughout the year. And a special thanks to our loyal crew, especially official Queen of Merchandise Katrina for always being there to look after cd sales and deal with bizarre requests from punters, and to Jamie for the millions of photos and videos he’s taken – not to mention all the driving.

Lots to come early in 2012… we’re heading back to Adelaide, taking in Lorne and Kaniva on the way, on Australia Day weekend. And we’ll be making our first appearance at the Echuca Celtic Festival over the St Patrick’s Day weekend in March. We’re aiming to play as many shows as possible between now and June, before taking a break for some more recording, as mentioned above. In the meantime, have a great Xmas and New Year!
